Job Purpose

Planning, Insight and Analytics are recruiting an experienced, collaborative and curious Data Analyst to support Course and programme portfolio review over the next two years.

Curriculum transformation, with a focus on enhancing programmes to embed future-focused skills, experiential learning, and inclusive assessment practices, is central to the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy for 2025–2035. By undertaking a coordinated evaluation of our portfolio, we will ensure alignment with institutional goals, enabling students to benefit from initiatives such as Curriculum for Life and the employability framework. These enhancements aim to enrich the student experience, improve outcomes, and prepare graduates to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape. The Data Analyst will support Curriculum transformation, reporting into the Planning, Insight and Analytics (PIA) directorate at the University of Glasgow, and working closely with colleagues in Schools, Colleges, MSDI and PIA. PIA sits at the heart of University Services and provides data and analysis to support decision-making at the highest level. This role sits within PIA’s Data Analytics team.

The role holder will be responsible for insight and analysis relating to curriculum review, drawing on information held within MyCampus, PIP and other systems relating to Learning & Teaching. The role holder may also be invited to explore other data held by PIA, including insight into student population and performance, as well as external sources of data.

The post requires the holder to be comfortable extracting and analysing data, explaining patterns, developing analytic models, assessing and making recommendations around data quality and effectively communicating the stories found within data. In return for your valuable data expertise, you will benefit from working within a talented, supportive Data Analytics team, and in close collaboration with a range of experienced data practitioners including data governance, data engineering, data science and strategic planning.
