Job description

Job Purpose

 

Working as part of the Adam Smith Business School professional services team, reporting to the Marketing Officer, the role-holder will support the day-to-day delivery of the School’s student recruitment strategy and assist with the planning and coordination of the School’s student recruitment activities. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues in the College of Social Sciences and the Marketing and External Engagement Office to promote the School and assist with the planning and delivery of recruitment projects to promote the study opportunities at the Adam Smith Business School.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

The post holder will support the implementation of the School’s student recruitment and conversion plans and strategy;

 

1.  Assist in the coordination, planning and tracking of the School’s conversion activities on a yearly basis, ensuring these integrate with the University’s overall recruitment plans by liaising with External Relations as well as colleagues in the School and the College Marketing Manager (Recruitment & Conversion).

 

2.  Support the Learning and Teaching department with new student on-boarding communications on the school webpages and e- communications.

 

3.  Handle enquiries and coordinate email campaigns.

 

4.  Monitor and manage all student recruitment email inboxes.

 

5.  Update, maintain and enhance the School’s recruitment web pages.

 

6.  Work with the Marketing Officer to plan assets and content for digital marketing campaigns.

 

7.  Design market assessment reports for specific courses at various stages of the portfolio review process.

 

8.  Ensure the School’s profiles and programmes listings on external websites are up-to-date and reflect the School’s advertising priorities.

 

9.  Assist the Marketing Officer in the creation of promotional material including developing PGT/R programme related School marketing materials and create new programme flyers and brochures as required.

 

10. Organise School recruitment events and support the School’s participation in University events such as open days.

 

11.  Organise web chats and co-ordinate student and alumni volunteers.

 

12.  Assist the Digital Marketing Officer with the production of recruitment related videos: idea generation, recruiting student volunteers, planning interview questions/story boarding, liaising with production team.

 

13.  Report on effectiveness of recruitment and conversion activities by providing relevant data, google analytics, statistical reports and monthly  updates to the appropriate teams as instructed on the impact of activities. This needs to be GDPR compliant.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

 

Knowledge/Qualifications

 

Essential

A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent work experience in an area relative to the role

 

Desirable

B1 Knowledge and understanding of the role of student recruitment

B2 Knowledge and understanding of digital marketing and marketing in general

 

Skills

 

Essential

C1 Ability to interact effectively with people at different levels within the University and external companies

C2 Analytical and problem-solving capability

C3 Ability to prioritise competing demands from a variety of stakeholders

C4 High level of competency in IT skills including advanced skills in the use of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint

C5 High level of oral and written communication including presentation and influencing skills

C6 Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

C7 Strong organisational skills with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously

C8 Familiarity with content management systems and experience of writing for the web

C9 Ability to interpret data and present reports

Terms and Conditions

 

Salary will be Grade 5, £26,338 - £30,805 per annum pro rata.

 

This post is part time (17.5 hours per week).  This post is to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months or until the substantive postholder returns.
