Job Purpose
Maximise CREATe’s online presence, digital resources and the success and accessibility of CREATe’s events portfolio.
This role will assist with the content creation, promoting of events, publications, projects and cooperations across different platforms, moderating our social channels, and helping us report on our digital activity.
It is an integral part of our CREATe’s team, in order for our events and activities to be able to reach wider audiences. The postholder will assist with hybrid events formats and provide technical support at events and research activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Work on project deliverables as part of CREATe internet activities and AHRC Infrastructure funding.
- Work with Blog Editors, Knowledge Exchange Officer and Creative Director to help manage the day-to-day running of the Centre’s social media (LinkedIn, X/ Twitter and YouTube) and external facing outputs, like website/blog/publications.
- Post content and respond to comments and messages to foster positive engagement and add value to the supporter experience.
- Support CREATe’s events by providing technical/audiovisual/IT assistance to colleagues and guest speakers at the activities. Help with hybrid aspects of events (Zoom/recording), presentations, video files editing, audio files editing, designing visual materials, posters, and transcriptions of recordings.
- Support the wider team with administrative duties as and when required, supporting the smooth running of the Centre.
- Actively contribute to team and organisation meetings.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Knowledge /Qualifications
Essential
A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this post, having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role, or:
A2 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework Level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A3 This position would be well-suited to current PhD student with interests in computer science, information studies, the internet and intellectual property law, data protection law and cyber security.
Skills
Essential
C1 WordPress, Office and Audio-visual applications (Zoom/Teams) used for hybrid events, social media usage, video editing and Coding (desirable).
C2 Strong interest/ experience in creating content for digital channels and understanding the digital landscape including trends.
C3 Attention to detail.
C4 Strong IT skills and willingness to learn.
C5 Video editing experience/ interest – experience with or willingness to learn Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar.
C6 Flexible, can-do attitude, with the ability to remain calm and professional when under pressure.
Experience
Essential
E1 Experience in or willingness to learn about data/web analytics/data reporting.
E2 Experience in law, computing data science and data development is desirable, but not mandatory.
E3 An ability to be self-motivated and work independently, as well as part of a team.
E4 Experience in working to a clear brief, following instructions and working in a dynamic team.
E5 Experience is taking own initiative.
Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £33,951 - £37,694 per annum pro rata.
This post is part time (7 hours per week) and fixed term for up to 18 months
